Stephanie and Peter’s St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church Wedding
I remember it like it was just yesterday with this wedding on the blog today. Stephanie and Peter tied the knot at their elegant yet relaxed St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church wedding. Throughout time, this wedding has remained very close and special to my heart. Once you see the photos, you’ll see why! It is the sweetest!
I know you must think I say that about all the weddings I share with you. In fact, it’s pretty accurate! But, that’s what happens when you have the opportunity to work with the most amazing people every year. I’m incredibly thankful for the time I get to spend with each and every one of my amazing couples. I love when I get to have fun planning with the parents, too. But, you know what’s even better? When I still keep in touch with them after their big day like I have with Peter’s parents, Elias and Lisa. (She makes the best baklava EVER, by the way!)
An Elegant Yet Relaxed Style
With a bride that was a model and local Florida pageant winner, you would probably think that she’d want her wedding to be just as glitz and glamourous. However, that wasn’t the case when Stephanie came to me to help her plan her big wedding day. While she had her fair share of glitz and sparkles in that former part of her life, she craved something different for her wedding day – both personally and aesthetically. While Peter’s priority was to pay homage to his Greek heritage, Stephanie really wanted an elegant yet relaxed wedding day. To create the more graceful, effortless glamour that Stephanie wanted, we created her wedding’s design around creamy tones accented with blush and gold.
Their Traditional Ceremony
Needless to say, their ceremony inside St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church was one filled with so much beauty and tradition. With gorgeous arrangements atop columns at the beginning of the aisle and on the altar along with simple pew markers by Raining Roses, we really let the beauty of the church shine during their ceremony. (Look at those photos. I mean, WOW!)
Their Soft, Elegant Reception
Meanwhile, at Stephanie and Peter’s reception, we created a soft and beautifully elegant space designed around those creamy tones she loved so much. The blush and creamy tones along with the clear glass accents in the centerpieces and table settings really brightened up the space and gave off a soft, relaxed vibe. If I must say so myself, it complimented perfectly with the space’s grand windows, gold accents with the chairs and chargers, bountiful floral, and dramatic blush ripple draping to give their event an elegant and luxurious look.
I loved their incorporation of their Greek heritage into the reception details with the Jordan Almond favors in delicately embroidered bags as well as the tagged greenery on each menu card and the homemade desserts made by Peter’s mother. Not to mention, their wedding cake’s breathtaking detail by The Pastry Studio made it a focal point of the reception. It was almost too gorgeous to eat!
One of the things I loved most about Stephanie and Peter’s wedding was how we were able to make their day really embody who they were while paying homage to their heritage. I most appreciated all the ways we were able to incorporate their Greek traditions from the ceremony to the music and homemade desserts at the reception prepared by Peter’s mother herself.
Stephanie and Peter, I am so thankful that you chose me to be a part of your elegant and romantic wedding day. You are absolutely the sweetest couple with the sweetest families, and it was such a joy to work with you all. I hope to have more couples like you to cherish in the future. I wish you all the happiness and well wishes in the world as Mr. and Mrs. Drymonis!
