Classic Southern Wedding | Knowles Chapel at Rollins College | Interlachen Country Club
I loved working with Erica and Taylor, they are the ultimate, traditional Southern couple; they wanted a classic Southern wedding with some vibrant pops of color, and a fun party.
The keys to telling this couple’s story were layering in soft beautiful details that share their Southern hospitality and infuse luxurious elements into their Winter Park Florida Wedding creating a warm, sweet, and welcoming environment.
Wedding invitations set the tone for this black-tie wedding; classic, yet elegant a simple white stock with black lettering in a soft script font; accompanied by envelopes with beautiful hand addressed calligraphy.
Erica chose a beautiful lace A-Line ball gown with a sheer cap sleeve paired with a cathedral length veil and a very traditional fingertip length blusher. She chose the perfect accents, a simple gold bracelet, gold and pearl earrings and my favorite, champagne gold glitter Jimmy Choo pointed toe pumps.
The bridal party wore simple tiffany blue bridesmaid’s dresses which were the perfect backdrop for their soft, loose bouquets of cream, pink and burgundy peonies, soft full roses, ranunculus, ferns and seeded eucalyptus.
Erica and Taylor chose the historic Knowles Chapel at Rollins College, a beautiful Mediterranean Revival building with high vaulted ceilings and dark wood pews which were accented with hanging lanterns and soft floral nosegays anchored with oversized garden urns overflowing with lush flowers and greenery in soft creams and pinks with subtle pops of color.
Paired with the country club’s superior food and service, we set out to create a wedding reception that was warm, inviting and the epitome of Southern hospitality. Softening the space with white, flowing draping and soft lighting created a beautiful base for long guest tables, allowing for ease of conversation, layered with beautiful lace linens, arrangements with chunky candles in silver and glass, mercury glass and silver julep cups.
The floral centerpieces were a mix of tall, full arrangements carrying through the colors and textures of the wedding party flowers; paired with lush, low, flowing arrangements combining fruit and floral.
Our favorite details were very focused on Southern charm; beautiful white charger plates with gold trim were enhanced with custom round menu cards, pressed glass added a feeling of warmth, home and elegance as did the custom, monogrammed hemstitch linen napkins. The dark burgundy pear added a fun, unexpected touch of whimsy to the place settings and added a new element to the floral décor carried through the day.
Their band, Atlanta Showstoppers, provided the fun party Erica and Taylor were looking for keeping the dance floor packed all night and the addition of some comfortable lounge seating and a welcoming outdoor terrace space complete with fire pit offered guests a relaxing environment.
