Abby and Danny’s Mission Inn Wedding

We’re throwing it back again on the blog today with Abby and Danny’s Italian Mediterranean style Mission Inn wedding. Abby’s wedding (yes, THE Abby Liga of Liga Photography) has been a long time in the making. At least, it has been in my mind for many years, anyways!

About Abby & Danny.

It’s hard to believe that Abby and I met over 10 years ago. I’m so happy to say that we have come as close as can be over the years. We began to collaborate with one another on weddings and various projects. But, I didn’t just love working with her professionally. I’ve also had the pleasure to go through this thing called life with her by my side. She’s helped me savor memories by documenting my family over the years. She has taken my family’s beautiful holiday portraits, family portraits, and graduation pictures. More priceless than that, we have guided each other in the past 10 years of life’s circumstances with the utmost love and respect.

Enter: Dashing Danny!

I’ve always felt a touch protective of Abby. But, I promise it wasn’t one of those hovering-mom type things! I just have always wished her the absolute best that life had to offer. With a soul like hers, she deserved the world. When Danny came into her life, their attraction was clearly immediate. Needless to say, their strong devotion to one another was very soon to follow.

When I had the opportunity to meet Danny for the first time, I knew he was perfect for Abby! I fell in love with him right away. To make things better, my mister did too! Danny is one of the most authentic people I have ever met, and I admired his total commitment to family and fatherhood with his darling sons, August and Cruz. Abby and Danny’s relationship was a very beautiful thing that you couldn’t help wish for everyone else in the world to experience with their own love.

Their Italian Mediterranean Style

About Mediterranean.

Nestled on along Lake Harris west of Orlando, the Mission Inn Resort is like taking a trip overseas to the Mediterranean. When we started venue shopping for Abby’s big day, she fell in love with Mission Inn. Their European inspired plazas gave off a Mediterranean feel that Abby loved and connected back to her Italian roots. Meanwhile it provided the absolute perfect backdrop for her outdoor ceremony and reception.

As Abby said in their wedding’s feature on Snippet and Ink, “The Plaza De Las Palmas courtyard at Mission Inn embodied everything [they] wanted, with beautiful mosaic reliefs of the Virgin Mary quietly showcased on each of the four walls of the cloister.” Their courtyard ceremony was complete with draped archways, olive leaves and Italian ruscus lining the aisle, and gardenias and roses floating on the center fountain’s tiers. Meanwhile, their reception was held on the vast green lawn of Mission Inn overlooking the lake.

A Family Affair

In addition to the Mediterranean style of the Mission Inn, we were able to also bring pieces of her heritage into her big day through their reception design. We created a fun ‘U’ shaped floor plan to allow for a more intimate feel as if to portray a large Italian family dinner, and dinner was actually served ‘Italian Family Style’ on large platters for everyone to dig in and share. The use of actual fresh and grilled lemons within the arrangements also gave a fresh yet rustic feel, and the market lights strung over the large U-shaped table gave the occasion the perfect al fresco atmosphere for their families’ first meal together.

Not to mention, among my many favorite details of the day was their menus at the reception. It’s sad to say that many traditional menu cards can be overlooked and discarded. But, instead of a traditional menu card, the menu was printed on small paper bags with a baguette inside and some rosemary to accent. It was such a beautiful touch on the breaking of bread together between families over such a glorious occasion. As Abby also mentioned to Snippet and Ink, their day “was all about family, friends, and enjoying the experience” with one another.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. DiDomenico!

Abby and Danny, years later, I am still so honored that you allowed me to play a roll in the start of your forever together. I cherish you both as dear friends of mine, and you have made the sweetest family together. I am so thankful for the years we’ve gotten to spend doing life with one another, and I continue to wish you all the happiness and well wishes in the world as Mr. and Mrs. DiDomenico!

Thank you to all the vendors who came together to make this day truly unforgettable!
