“Love is a mystery for it has nothing else to explain it.” Rabindranath Tagore
It is one thing to appreciate a wedding, celebration and moments through beautiful imagery, but it is quite another to see these moments moving, breathing and experiencing…
Real couple Melissa and Luke were not only stunning in the imagery from my editorial shoot from my previous blog post, “A Perfect Storm,” but they are utterly captivating here in this short film by Jeffrey Stoner from the day as it unfolded.
I don’t know about you, but this video left me feeling starry-eyed and hopeful.
Love does that to you!

What can I say about this gorgeous couple that hailed from Bermuda to offer me the distinct honor to plan and design their traditional, yet chic white wedding with perhaps a *splash* of color thrown in by yours truly?
I think Stacey’s initial reaction at her ballroom reveal here says it all, no? *wink
But– there was so much more to their wedding than that. It was emotionally, romantically and thoughtfully charged wedding and the design touches were only just a part of that.
Hence, the importance of video!
Pour yourself a glass (or a mug!) and do yourself a favor, and watch these sweet highlights from Stacey and Ricky’s gorgeous wedding day!

Hilary & Rob | Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes
Hilary and Rob are HUGE University of Florida fans; so much so that when it came time for their engagement photos they arranged for photos alone in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium!
But when it came time for the wedding there were no Gators colors. Hilary wanted the Lisa Stoner Events team to design an all-white décor for the wedding. The bridal party wore white and the guests were also invited to come in white attire.
Hilary started the day with wedding portraits in an all-white Ines DiSanto (Eva) figure flattering mermaid style wedding gown of contemporary lace; accented with a simple crystal embellishments from Solutions Bridal in Orlando. She carried a soft, loose, handtied bouquet of lush white peonies, soft full white roses and white stephanotis with trailing white wavy satin ribbon.
For the beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes, they chose the beautiful outdoor gazebo overlooking the lake, golf course and headwaters of the Florida Everglades. White garden chairs complimented the white gazebo which was adorned with tall glass cylinder vases with single specimen bouquets containing white hydrangea, clusters of white tea roses, lush white peonies, white phalaenopsis orchids as well as huge cymbidium orchids.
The aisle was bordered with beautiful scalloped waves of soft paper flowers in a variety of hues of white, made by Hilary and later repurposed adding dimension to the long guest tables at the reception, making them look oval in shape.
Prior to the start of the ceremony Hillary added a matching A-Line Ines DiSanto (Theia) overskirt with a full train, adding a sheer cathedral length veil for a completely different look; complimenting Rob’s handsome, classic three button black tuxedo with stephanotis boutonniere.
Guest were welcomed to a beautiful wedding reception that carried on the theme of all-white décor and modern lace. Guest tables were overlaid with white lace linen, paired with classic gold rimmed white charger plates with custom menu cards. The menu cards echoed the gold chiavari chairs and gold floral containers wrapped with white satin ribbon and crystal embellishments with white flowers incorporating many of same flowers as the ceremony, with the addition of white larkspur for texture.
The focal point of the wedding was a show stopping paper flower wall we incorporated as a backdrop to display their beautiful four-tier off white wedding cake adorned to reflect the modern lace applique and satin buttons of Hilary’s gown. Placement of their sweetheart table with lush orchid arrangement and custom carved name piece allowed guests the perfect view of the newlyweds, their wedding cake and the flower wall backdrop.
After some time alone, and Hilary’s quick change into a short white scalloped edge dress the couple made a sparkling entrance to dance the night away.
Thanks to all the vendors who came together to make this day truly unforgettable!

Classic Elegant White Wedding Details | Waldorf Astoria Orlando
Stacey and Ricky came to Orlando for their elegant Central Florida destination wedding, from Bermuda where they reside. Stacey’s vision was a classic, elegant, all white wedding and the beautiful Waldorf Astoria Orlando offered them an unparalleled backdrop for this destination wedding with an effortless vibe.
Ricky, who reminded me of Pitbull, and I jokingly referred to as “Mr. Worldwide” anxiously waited, in his stunning navy tuxedo with black satin shawl color, bow tie and buttons, for his bride’s arrival.
Stacey’s figure was accented by her beautiful strapless mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline and full flowing train. Escorted by her mother she carried a handtied white bridal bouquet of creamy, soft, white roses.
Stacey’s something blue, that paired with Ricky’s tuxedo, was a fabulous pair of blue, pointed toe, Manolo Blahnik pumps with a crystal buckle.
The Waldorf Astoria Orlando’s Signature Island set the stage for a private sunset wedding ceremony with sweeping views of the resort’s waterways. Guests were greeted by towering white arrangements of white hydrangea, roses and stock in oversized silver urns. Simple white garden chairs with no other aisle décor focused attention on a massive clear acrylic wedding arbor, crowned with a lush arrangement that carried through the hydrangea, roses and stock with small touches of greenery.
The transformation of the resort’s ballroom wowed Stacey and Ricky. Draped in white, with the one pop of color I was able to persuade them into including, a fabulous watercolor drape; which was set with a lounge for guests to enjoy between dance sets by a DJ they brought from Bermuda, to offer their guests an authentic Bermudian feel.
The unique round white dancefloor was surrounded by tables wrapped in beautiful white linen. The guest tables were also layered with clear glass chargers and lush groupings of clear glass, gold and silver toned candle holders as well as a mix of tall silver vases and low arrangements of white hydrangea, white roses and white tulips.
The couple’s beautiful white, ribbon wrapped five-tiered wedding cake was a focal point, towering about the guests seating on a white riser and topped with a crystal monogram.

Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando – Roof Top Deck | Johann Strauss Ballroom
Lia and Lisa are the best and I loved working with them; they are a wedding planner’s dream client because they put so much trust in me and really followed my lead.
They wanted a glamorous, non- traditional, black tie wedding and this clean modern design with a plum and grey color palate really set the stage for the chic, urban wedding.
The Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando in downtown Orlando offered beautiful outdoor locations for stylish cityscape portraits and wedding party photographs.
The Grand Bohemian’s rooftop pool deck set the stage for an elegant sunset wedding ceremony. The white wedding tent was layered with white draping and white carpeting accented with beautiful crystal chandeliers and crystal chivari chairs. The only pop of color was the brides’ beautiful hand tied aubergine calla lily bridal bouquets.
Each of the ladies selected a bridal party of close friends, with the ladies carrying burgundy black calla lily bouquets.
Photographer Kathy Thomas worked with us to design a Vanity Fair like photo studio where guests were able to get styled, dramatic portraits.
