I know I talk a lot about details here, but if you are here and participating in this medium, I am pretty sure you’ll understand where I am coming from…
Weddings are more than “colors” and “themes.” Weddings are a communion, a reverent celebration, a story, (your love story!) and an experience for not only you, but for your family and friends to savor and remember for a lifetime.
The fact that this was Brittany’s sensibility when she met with me for the first time told me everything I needed to know and offered me the perfect charge! She and Barret had been on what I call the “wedding circuit.” So many of their friends and peers are getting married and it seemed as if they were going to a wedding every other month! Through these weddings she and Barret attended, she had seen, heard and tasted what seemed to be everything, and she wanted hers and Barret’s wedding to be signature, just like them! *wink.
First things first; starting the day relaxed and confident is the perfect approach to experiencing all of the beautiful moments that are ahead of you as the day unfolds.
This space here is to give you ample warning (and time to grab some tissues!) as to quite possibly the most emotional Daddy reveal I have ever seen. Now tell me these are not images that will turn into forever mementos!
Recovered yet? Shall I give you a moment? Here’s a sweet Bridesmaids reveal as you gain your composure!
How about a stunning look at Brittany’s processional, a sharp wedding party and some portraits of Brittany and Barret to look at while you take care of that pesky thing in your eye… *wink!
Brittany’s white, lush and romantic bouquet consisted of white garden roses peonies and, my favorite, ranunculus (seriously, I try to sneak them in every wedding that I am able!) against light touches of greenery. The trailing ribbons were soft, feminine and I loved how the bouquet moved with her in that striking Ines DiSanto gown.
I love that these portraits here are the perfect transition from the garden aesthetic from just outside Knowles Chapel to what we created inside the ballroom at The Alfond Inn!
So what sets this wedding apart from the others? Cue the details!
Designing a wedding reception in a ballroom needs particular attention to details that offer those 4 walls life. We opted for these tall centerpieces with cascading greenery and candles on top to offer a romantic and dreamy glow as guests dined.
I loved how the seating directory turned out thanks to Andi Mejia Calligraphy!
This wedding cake was very well deserving of it’s very own backdrop!
I had four custom trellis panels constructed where vines and greenery were interwoven throughout with touches of white florals creating a 10-12 foot canopy over our bars and cake. It was magical!
These chic, marble chargers with gold flatware and the vellum menu card with gold foil, were perfect, minimal, yet chic details-
First Dance, Daddy-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Dance; give me alllll the dances!!
Brittany and Barret, this is one I shall never soon forget! Your confidence and trust made my “job” so worthwhile, and I loved watching this beautiful day unfold for you!
May you forever wear these same smiles! xx, LS
Yonna and Jay | The Alfond Inn
Yonna and Jay met later in life; Jay was a widower, and when they found each other, believe it or not, they actually lived on the same street.
They have worked hard to successfully blend two families of grown children and grandchildren to the point where it is nearly impossible to tell whose is whose. A large extended family vacation before the wedding set the tone for the big day to come.
To that end, one of the things of utmost importance, when Yonna and Jay came to Lisa Stoner Events, was to make sure every family member or guest felt included and loved. They did not want a typical wedding reception; they wanted more of a dinner party where two people happened to get married.
Yonna’s gown was custom made by Holly Smith with Tears of Joy Seamstress. Yonna and her sister Star made a number of trips to Miami to source the fabric for this beautiful embellished lace gown.
Jay looked dapper in his classic black tuxedo with bow tie and monogrammed cufflinks.
Family and friends were welcomed with lovely embellished jute tote bags filled with treats and information on the wedding and farewell brunch.
Their First Look was touching, much like our first meeting where they looked lovingly into each other’s eyes, held hands and called each other their Everlasting Love.
Their outdoor wedding ceremony in The Alfond Inn’s Courtyard was held in the round with Yonna and Jay exchanging their vows on a raised platform in the center. The stage for this beautiful downtown Winter Park wedding ceremony was set with clear chivari chairs and oversized white floral arrangements with touches of greenery.
In typical fashion, the couple got a sneak peek of the ballroom décor; but remained in the room to welcome family and friends, rather than making a grand entrance.
For this elegant dinner party, the Alfond’s Ballroom was wrapped in fabric draping and soft warm up lighting and candlelight. Clear glass trumpet vases topped with explosions of white flowers, smaller crystal vases, glass candlesticks and beaded glass chargers lined long family friendly tables.
Yonna and Jay opened the dancefloor with their First Dance to ‘At Last’ and the band kept the dancefloor full throughout the evening. Guests closed out the night with the cutting of the beautiful four tiered wedding cake.
Thank you to all the vendors who helped make this milestone family event such a huge success.

Classic Southern Wedding | Knowles Chapel at Rollins College | Interlachen Country Club
I loved working with Erica and Taylor, they are the ultimate, traditional Southern couple; they wanted a classic Southern wedding with some vibrant pops of color, and a fun party.
The keys to telling this couple’s story were layering in soft beautiful details that share their Southern hospitality and infuse luxurious elements into their Winter Park Florida Wedding creating a warm, sweet, and welcoming environment.
Wedding invitations set the tone for this black-tie wedding; classic, yet elegant a simple white stock with black lettering in a soft script font; accompanied by envelopes with beautiful hand addressed calligraphy.
Erica chose a beautiful lace A-Line ball gown with a sheer cap sleeve paired with a cathedral length veil and a very traditional fingertip length blusher. She chose the perfect accents, a simple gold bracelet, gold and pearl earrings and my favorite, champagne gold glitter Jimmy Choo pointed toe pumps.
The bridal party wore simple tiffany blue bridesmaid’s dresses which were the perfect backdrop for their soft, loose bouquets of cream, pink and burgundy peonies, soft full roses, ranunculus, ferns and seeded eucalyptus.
Erica and Taylor chose the historic Knowles Chapel at Rollins College, a beautiful Mediterranean Revival building with high vaulted ceilings and dark wood pews which were accented with hanging lanterns and soft floral nosegays anchored with oversized garden urns overflowing with lush flowers and greenery in soft creams and pinks with subtle pops of color.
Paired with the country club’s superior food and service, we set out to create a wedding reception that was warm, inviting and the epitome of Southern hospitality. Softening the space with white, flowing draping and soft lighting created a beautiful base for long guest tables, allowing for ease of conversation, layered with beautiful lace linens, arrangements with chunky candles in silver and glass, mercury glass and silver julep cups.
The floral centerpieces were a mix of tall, full arrangements carrying through the colors and textures of the wedding party flowers; paired with lush, low, flowing arrangements combining fruit and floral.
Our favorite details were very focused on Southern charm; beautiful white charger plates with gold trim were enhanced with custom round menu cards, pressed glass added a feeling of warmth, home and elegance as did the custom, monogrammed hemstitch linen napkins. The dark burgundy pear added a fun, unexpected touch of whimsy to the place settings and added a new element to the floral décor carried through the day.
Their band, Atlanta Showstoppers, provided the fun party Erica and Taylor were looking for keeping the dance floor packed all night and the addition of some comfortable lounge seating and a welcoming outdoor terrace space complete with fire pit offered guests a relaxing environment.

Laura and Rory’s Alfond Inn Wedding
Laura and Rory tied the knot this past fall with a classic, luxurious ballroom Alfond Inn wedding. Although the two love birds currently call North Carolina their home, Laura grew up in the Melbourne area of Florida not too far from the elegant Winter Park boutique hotel venue. However, it was at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina, that she met Rory. The two went on to practice law, and the rest was history!
Despite the Muted Tones, This Wedding Was Anything But That:
Naturally, the two North Carolina lawyers approached planning their wedding in an analytical way. But, they soon found that they couldn’t help but fall in love with the charm this Florida venue had to offer. They decided to get married in Florida, and I was more than excited to help give them their dream wedding day. With Laura’s love for muted tones and thistle in the floral design, together we were able to create a breathtaking event that was anything but subdued in nature.
Needless to say, their beautiful outdoor courtyard ceremony was as grand in style as it was intimate in feeling. I loved putting a modern twist on their classic design with the layout of the ceremony seating to create a more intimate feeling. The couple opted for guest seating in a circle around them as they tied the knot so that everyone had a close seat to take in the moment with them. Beautifully abundant arrangements from Fairbanks Florist‘s Lana Faulkner lined the backs of chairs. All together, the Alfond Inn’s lush, green courtyard complete with the white and greenery filled arrangements gave their ceremony a classic look that is truly timeless.
Meanwhile, their indoor ballroom reception adorned with silver and grey accents was like a fairytale ending to the big day with charm that truly romanced their guests. The lavish centerpieces, abundance of candles, and twinkling wall installations transformed this space into a luxurious ballroom fit for royalty. Not to mention, the clear chiavari chairs paired with glass accents were as perfect as the fit of cinderella’s glass slipper. The glowing princess in her Calvet Couture gown had her breathtakingly beautiful ballroom to twirl the night away in with her sweet prince. And, that’s just what they did!
Congratulations, Laura and Rory!
My heart completely melted when I saw these images from Vitalic Photography. There is not a single photo where Laura and Rory weren’t completely glowing and grinning from ear to ear. One of my favorite moments of the day was when I had the chance to give Laura her a private ballroom reveal. As you’d expect a lawyer’s personality to be, Laura was quite analytical throughout the entire planning process. However, by her own admission, she was found herself pleasantly disarmed by how emotional she became during the big reveal. She was finally able to see how the all details and plans over our time with one another finally came together, and how simply lovely it all was.
Laura and Rory, I am so honored that you chose me to be a part of your truly charming wedding day. You are absolutely the sweetest couple and were such a joy to work with. I hope to have more couples who radiate as much pure love as you in the future. I wish you all the happiness and well wishes in the world as Mr. and Mrs!
So this is love; so this is what makes life divine.” – Cinderella

Amanda and Aaron’s Alfond Inn Wedding
Amanda and Aaron tied the knot this spring with a perfectly pink garden inspired Alfond Inn wedding. As if working as a full time nurse and pursuing a master’s degree in nursing wasn’t enough of a handful, I met Amanda when she was also juggling the wedding planning process. She recently moved from Texas to Orlando following her engagement to Aaron, and didn’t know a soul. What she did love was her home with Aaron. Her favorite place to daydream and have a glass of wine after a long day of work and studying was their backyard deck. She loved getting to sit still in the moment with her beloved and gaze at the trees under the twinkle lights. There was something about that favorite place of theirs that melted the worries of the world away.
Their Spring Garden Inspired Design
When Amanda came to me to for help, I knew right away that I wanted their big day together to tap into their favorite place in an elegant and enchanting way that they’d remember for their lifetime to come. Together we were able to create a breathtaking event that truly astonished guests. Needless to say, their beautiful outdoor courtyard ceremony resembled the beauty of a botanical garden with the help of Fairbanks Florist‘s Lana Faulkner. It was complete with whimsical arrangements atop wrought iron columns that lined the bride’s pathway. Not to mention, the bouquets and the bridesmaids’ dresses complimented one another perfectly as a color palette match made in heaven. (I mean, who doesn’t love blush and greenery together?) Amanda’s bouquet was adorned with a blush ribbon that had the perfect portrait look flowing in the wind.
Meanwhile, their indoor garden reception design complete with bountiful greenery, wooden accents, and twinkle lights made this elegant Winter Park, Florida boutique hotel venue feel better than home to this blissful couple. The space featured hanging greenery, garlands, and trees that really transformed the ballroom space into an whimsical garden while the abundance of candles created an intimate space that was nothing short of romantic. Along with the gold accent of the chiavari chairs, the glass chargers, and the elegant greenery inspired curved menus to compliment their blush palette, their reception space was the perfect balance of whimsy and sophistication.
Congratulations, Dr. and Mrs. Campbell!
If you couldn’t tell by the scrunched nose smiles and her eyes twinkling like the lights of their reception space, these two love each other deeply. One of my favorite things about their day is that it really spoke to who they were as a couple. While we were able to share their beloved outdoor space with their closest family and friends in a way that exuded pure romance and whimsy, we infused Amanda’s Caribbean roots by having a Junkanoo band play their entrance into the reception. Not to mention, their wedding was also a dream to pet parents everywhere as they were able to include their fur babies in on the paw-fect celebration!
Amanda and Aaron, I am so honored that you chose me to be a part of your truly magical wedding day. You are absolutely the sweetest couple and were such a joy to work with. I hope to have more couples who radiate as much pure love as you in the future. I wish you all the happiness and well wishes in the world as Dr. and Mrs. Campbell!
